About Us
In 2011 Mortal Ghost was formed to rock the DC metro area to its core! Bringing together a unique mix of grunge, punk, surf, and whatever else "rock" consists of we seek to surpass the modern, musical establishment both melodically, stylistically, and lyrically. We hope to challenge you to become who you were created to be and to channel your inner ghost, locked inside its mortal cage.
Rocker Russ, aka Ghost Shipp (or known as Rusty Ghost Shipp by his enemies), does guitar riffage and "killer" vox. He currently resides in Leesburg, Va, and has a "ctrl+C, ctrl+V" job in Reston. He is also the primary song-writer, incorporating songs from his "Terremoto" project into the Mortal Ghost catalogue.
Jammin' Johnny Ghost deGruyter does bass jamnation and BGV's. He currently resides in Vienna, Va, and works in Arlington doing things he could tell you, but then he'd have to kill you.
"Animal" Jimbo Ghost Hayes does drummage and BGV's. He currently resides and works at Congressional Golf Course in Bethesda, Md, and is prepping up for the US Open with every spare moment he has.
Mortal Ghost currently practices in a 10X10 unit at Storage Village Chantilly.
